Control Engineer – Code bespoke software for cutting-edge systems
Position Summary:
The control team is responsible for delivering a wide variety of bespoke software to ensure safe, effective behaviour of the vehicle systems. These systems include battery management, active aerodynamics and torque-by-wire control, amongst many more systems. As a member of the control team, you will be expected to take a proactive approach to developing software across a range of the cutting-edge systems on vehicle, with opportunity for hands-on work with vehicle systems.
Specific tasks include:
- Gathering and documenting software requirements
- Developing control software, typically in a MATLAB/Simulink environment
- Deployment, testing & calibration of software on rig and/or vehicle.
- Performing robust validation that software achieves key performance and safety goals through HIL testing.
Skills Required:
- A relevant degree level qualification
- Experience developing control software in an automotive or motorsport environment.
- Experience of MATLAB/Simulink
- A good technical understanding of major systems on a high-performance EV
- Strong grounding in engineering mathematics
- Enthusiasm about new technologies and problem solving in an automotive/motorsport environment.
- Demonstrate ability to capture requirements and deliver significant system components independently.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and document safety considerations and appropriate mitigations.
