McMurtry Automotive designs, engineers and builds the smallest and most technologically advanced supercars possible. Innovation is in our DNA and we tap into that every day to continue creating more with less.

The culture at McMurtry is defined by our core values. These principles are key to our identity; they underpin our ambitious goal setting, guide our progress towards those goals, and evolve with the company and team.

Life at McMurtry

Located in the Gloucestershire countryside, McMurtry is surrounded by the beautiful Cotswolds while being within an easy distance of the vibrant and historic city of Bristol.

We make the most of the outdoors at our rural HQ, welcoming outdoor pursuits and pets, as well as enjoying the indoor swimming pool and squash courts at our disposal. Annual team-building events encourage creativity and healthy workplace competition, and socials are organised throughout the year just for fun.

Our two-storey, open plan office and design space is perfect for independent working in a communal environment, leaving space for collaborative tasks in breakout areas and meeting rooms. The separate and versatile workshop handles everything from quick turn-around prototype parts to prolonged practical development efforts. Our recently updated build area is the hub of assembly activities – where the designs come to life.

The McMurtry Spéirling electric fan car has just broken the Goodwood Hillclimb record, but what are we doing next?

We are expanding our team to allow us to deliver the three next targets on our list:

  • Unlocking more performance from our record-breaking demonstrator cars. There are more records in our sights
  • Engineering the components, systems, and processes for the road legal version
  • Delivering our proprietary battery technology for high performance customer applications

McMurtry Automotive’s mission is to bring real engagement and emotion to driving electric performance cars.  Our close and highly motivated team consists of people from Formula One, high-end automotive and aerospace backgrounds who appreciate the design freedom that working in a small and agile team gives.  We are big on clean sheet design and out of the box thinking and have the backing and commitment to change the way people think about small electric cars for good.
