McMurtry are exhibiting the Spéirling at Silverstone Classic from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th August. Come along for a closer look at our record-breaking car!
- McMurtry Spéirling on static display for all 3 days of the event in the International Paddock
- The headline track action is historic masters Formula One, the era where innovation was visually striking and unlocked wins and championships for the pioneers of the sport.
- Other categories are pre ’66 Grand Prix cars, with which the Spéirling shares a nostalgically compact footprint. Endurance legends, pre-war and sports cars also competing.
- Max Chilton is attending Saturday and Sunday. Thomas Yates is attending Friday and Saturday.
Max and the Spéirling have spent a many a day honing their harmony on the Silverstone GP circuit this year. Therefore, its a pleasure to announce they are both returning to the venue to meet spectators and interested parties over the bank holiday weekend at The Silverstone Classic.
The Silverstone Classic is a historic race meeting with everything from pre-war racers, to 1950s-80s F1 cars, to sport cars all either competing or on display throughout the weekend. As well as thrilling track action and epic stunts, the Classic hosts great entertainment for all the family with delicious food, fairground rides and live music including Rick Astley performing on Sunday. There is also an electric car area where some manufacturers are offering test drives (although not on the race track!).
The Goodwood record-holding car will be on static display in the International Paddock near pit 26 for all three days. Team members will also be on hand to answer questions about Goodwood and McMurtry’s future cars.
The McMurtry team are also looking forward to witnessing Derek Bell, Le Mans legend and one of our original test drivers, lapping in one of his Group C 962 cars on the Saturday to celebrate 40 years since Silverstone first hosted the class, alongside many other Group C cars. There’s also an epic sounding, predominantly V10 engined 90’s F1 car demonstration each day.
