Motorsport Industry Association award McMurtry Automotive ‘Technology and Innovation Award’ at Silverstone

Thomas Yates, McMurtry Automotive receives award from Stuart Cooper, Market Head for Motorsport of Ricardo

McMurtry are proud to have won the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) Business Excellence Award for Technology and Innovation.  

The peer voted award is in recognition of McMurtry’s progress in making innovative and record breaking fan car technology commercially available in a high performance electric track car.  

The presentation on Wednesday 11th October was part of the Motorsport Engineering and Technology show, hosted at the Silverstone Wing complex.

Previous winners of the award include Williams Advanced Engineering and McLaren Applied.  Other award categories have previously been won by Formula One teams including Mercedes.  

Thomas Yates, managing director of McMurtry Automotive, said: “It’s fantastic to get industry recognition for the hard work we are doing to bring back fan downforce and offer it to the global market. I’d like to thank the MIA for recognising our efforts at their terrific event and most of all to thank my McMurtry colleagues for their commitment to innovation which has really helped to drive the company forwards.”
