🏆McMurtry Spéirling PURE wins Top Gear “Track Weapon of the Year 2024” 🏆
On 26th Nov at BBC Studios in London, McMurtry Chief Engineer, Kevin Ukoko-Rongione collected the award on behalf of the company from F1 TV presenter Natalie Pinkham and Top Gear Editor Jack Rix.
The award is the result of the front cover worthy test drive review from Ollie Marriage combined with records set at Hockenheim, Castle Combe and Laguna Seca this year.
Ollie’s enthusiastic feedback was:
- “Even now, months later, I can remember exactly how the Spéirling made me feel – it made me feel like a superhero…”
- “It accelerates like a dragster, turns like an F1 car. Nothing else is able to do what this does.”

On stage Kevin said “This car was born from a clean sheet by focusing on what is possible, not what’s conventional. Combining ground breaking past innovations, like fan downforce from the Brabham BT46B F1 car, with state of the art EV technology, we’ve delivered an F1 fast yet fun track car which can be driven by all abilities.”
McMurtry Managing Director, Thomas Yates, was also in attendance along with motoring bosses from Gordon Murray Automotive, Aston Martin, Renault, McLaren, Lamborghini and others.
